Ten bazillion hours later, on the final day of this month’s Home Hacks theme at Apartment Therapy, I can now share the reason I’ve rarely left the house the last week. I learned stenciling is a lot of fun but it takes a lot of prep time and patience. It also should be done ideally in a space where there is more than one bathroom to access, since I found myself having to use the toilet while standing in the tub a couple of times requiring a sideway potshot. Fortunately, I’ve got good aim.
Check out the full Home Hack how-to here and you too can learn to love painters tape and say “farewell” to ugly 1983 vinyl tile flooring.

That rocks! Nicely done!
that is great g, looks like lemondrops on the floor. great work!
Love the color combo with the wall and tub. How did you paint your tub? Is it porcelain?
Stacey: the tub is a clawfoot, freestanding type that had a structure built around it with wood. It was already built when we moved in, but was off-white and discoloured, so I decided to paint it. The interior needs a new coating though, which may be my next major DIY project…
